Font Booklet
Objective
Choose a font and create a 2 page booklet that covers the history of the font and the creator of the font. Explain why this font represents the time it was created in, include imagery that represents the time period and show each character included in the font. Use layout, 1 color plus black, and imagery to convey the time period, font, and creator.
Solution
The font I chose is Eurostile, a geometric sans-serif typeface, it was created by Aldo Novarese in 1962. I chose the color orange as I feel it represents the time period and conveys the idea of sepia photography. From the start I wanted to play off the geometric nature of the font, using 90 degree angles on the cover an throughout the design, I wanted to contrast that with a diagonal motif, using the image on the cover and the characters over the spread.
